About Us
Our Story
Calcutta Crown Pvt Ltd comprises a team of Ivy League graduates who are 4th generation experts in the production and export of organic spices, herbs, botanicals and tea.
We are a family business that entered the industry as The Rex Group in 1919, with our purchase of Singtom Tea Estate and Steinthal Tea Estate, the two oldest tea farms in Darjeeling, India. In the years that followed, we purchased stakeholdings several other farms. Today, we have stakeholdings in farms across India, spanning Darjeeling, Assam, and Nepal.

We entered the tea export business in 1962, with our flagship group company Raghunath Exports. We expanded in 2003 by entering the organic spices, herbs, botanicals, and tea export business via our group's firms Raghunath Exporters and Tridev Packers.

We split the operation into multiple parts, with Calcutta Crown Pvt Ltd (established in 2017) taking care of business development in newer markets.

Our Mission
We are a one-stop-shop for Indian spices, herbs, botanicals and tea. We help food importers directly, reliably and ethically source 100% original, natural, safe products up to 50% fresher, up to 75% faster and for up to 33% lesser.
SOURCED DIRECTLY, FRESHER AND FASTER.
We source within 24 hours of production either from our own organic farms or our 100+ partner farms (some of which are organic, and others that are conventional), with whom we have direct sourcing relationships.

Our certified farms follow strict QA standards and are regularly audited to maintain high QC.
Our certified partner farms are personally vetted by us and follow the same standards are our own farms. We also share our expertise with partners to maintain similar quality standards.
SOURCED ETHICALLY.
If you want cinnamon powder, Darjeeling Tea and this year's produce of ginger, that is exactly what we will ship. Others may send you cassia, Nepal Tea and last year's ginger and you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
